NOIDA - NOIDA, June 2, 2007: Birlasoft, the information technology company of the $ 1.2 billion C K Birla Group, will be recruiting 2500 IT professionals in the next 12 months to meet the demands of its rapid expansion. Birlasoft’s headcount has doubled to 4200 employees, worldwide, in the last two years.
About one-third of these professionals will be picked up directly from engineering and MCA campuses in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and the South. The rest will be lateral placements for middle and senior level positions in different technologies and domains.
According to Vice-President, Human Resources (Global), Mr Narendra Puppala, “Our earlier intake from UP campuses has proved to be fruitful. The fresh students displayed good learning skills and satisfactory ability to adjust to corporate environment. The recently launched Birlasoft Academy is collaborating with IT academic institutions to update their courses and teaching in keeping with the latest needs of the IT industry. The Academy is scaling up its operations as more and more IT campuses are realizing the need for regular and vigorous interaction with the IT industry.”
Birlasoft, which has registered a quantum leap in its revenues last fiscal, has been ramping up its operations in a major way. The last three years have witnessed the launch of, at least, one software development center each year. The company is operating three centers in NOIDA (UP) and one each in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad apart from its units in the USA, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Mexico, China and Malaysia.
A new 2000-seat facility is coming up in NOIDA. Its first phase with 1000 seats is nearing completion and will be operational in the next four months. . |
