| Birlasoft launches 1200-seat facility in Noida |

Noida, Nov 22: IT services major Birlasoft (India) Ltd, a part of the $ 1.4-billion C K Birla Group, launched its new development center today. The 1231-seat facility is spread over 1, 28, 000 square feet in Sector 63 here.
The new state-of-the-art facility reinforces Birlasoft’s position in Noida where it is already running three centers covering over 200, 000 square feet and employing more than 2000 IT professionals. Another center spread over 100,000 square feet and with seating capacity of 810 seats is under construction near the latest facility and will be functional by middle of next year.
Speaking on the occasion, Birlasoft’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kamal Mansharamani, said, "Birlasoft is in the expansion mode. The last three years have witnessed our headcount more than doubling to 4400. The ramp-up shall continue as we are generating new business opportunities, winning new clients and entering new service and technology domains.”
Birlasoft, which figures among the top 20 IT services exporters in India, envisages crossing the 6000 head count by the end of 2008. In India, apart from its hub in Noida in the NCR Region, the company has development centers in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad where the company will be augmenting further capacities in the coming months. Besides its offices in the USA, UK, Singapore and Australia, Birlasoft has recently set up offices in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Amsterdam in Netherlands and Prague in the Czech Republic. |
